Fuel Ventures Steps Up Support for Homeless Youth with Commitment to House 100 Young People in 2025

Written by Christina Levada

Fuel Ventures, the UK-based venture capital firm, has announced the expansion of its philanthropic efforts through its annual Fuel Giving initiative, pledging safe housing to 100 homeless young people across the UK in 2025. Calling on its extensive network of investors, founders and the wider community for further donations, the leading venture capital firm aims to support even more young people over the next 12 months.

This initiative builds on the firm’s impactful donation last year, in which they supported 27 homeless young people, paying for them to have a place to call home for a full year. With this year’s expanded commitment, Fuel Ventures aims to make an even greater impact, ensuring that 100 young people across the UK receive safe housing and access to essential services - providing a foundation for vulnerable individuals to rebuild their lives and overcome the challenges of homelessness.

Youth homelessness remains a pressing issue in the UK, with more than 136,000 young people aged 16-24 homeless or at risk of homelessness*. This disproportionately affects marginalised communities, as a quarter (24%) of homeless young people in the UK identify as LGBTQ+**. Through its partnership with a leading homelessness charity, Fuel Ventures is offering tangible, life-changing solutions, such as counselling and trauma recovery programs equipping young people with the resources they need to break the cycle of homelessness.

To amplify the initiative’s reach, Fuel Ventures has invited its investors and founders community to join the cause.

Launched last year, the FuelGiving initiative has previously supported Cancer Research UK and provided support and housing for 27 homeless young people in 2024, underscoring Fuel Ventures’ dedication to leveraging its success for meaningful societal impact.

Mark Pearson, Founder of Fuel Ventures, comments:

"I grew up on a council estate in Liverpool, raised by a single mum, and we sometimes relied on domestic violence refuges. Despite my success, I’ve never forgotten where I come from, and giving back is a core part of who I am. As a father of two, I feel a responsibility to address the stark reality that tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ young people faced homelessness last year. No young person should be forced onto the streets, especially because of their sexuality or how they identify.

"This initiative is about more than just providing a roof over their heads - it’s about offering stability, support, and hope to help them rebuild their lives. We’re taking action not just to make a difference but to inspire others to do the same. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible network so we can help even more young people across the UK find the safety and opportunities they deserve."

Christina Levada, Operations Manager at Fuel Ventures, comments:

“Our FuelGiving initiative is a cornerstone of what Fuel Ventures stands for - using our success to uplift those who need it most. As a venture capital firm, we don’t just want to be known for supporting innovation; we want to create a lasting impact on society. Especially as the weather turns, we’re reminded of how fortunate we are to have roofs over our heads. It’s a no-brainer for us to step up and help vulnerable young people not only find safety, but also give them access to the support they need to reach their full potential. Last year, we gave 27 homeless young people a place to call home. This year, we’re taking it further by committing to house 100, and with the help of our investor community, hopefully even more!”
